RI Commissioner's Seal

The RI Commissioner’s Seal Council Designation certifies that a student is proficient in standards aligned to high school expectations in English Language Arts and Mathematics, as confirmed by external evidence and determined by the RI Department of Education. The seal is awarded by the district and included on a student’s diploma and transcript.

Requirements

To earn a RI Commissioner’s Seal, students must successfully meet the established benchmark on one approved ELA assessment AND one approved mathematics assessment.

Assessment Content Area: English Language Arts

  • ACT English - 18

  • PSAT Reading & Writing - 430

  • SAT Reading & Writing - 480

  • Advanced Placement: English Language & Composition - Level 3 or above

  • Advanced Placement: English Literature & Composition - Level 3 or above

Assessment Content Area: Mathematics

  • ACT Mathematics - 22

  • PARCC Algebra 1 - Level 4 and above/ 750

  • PSAT Mathematics - 480

  • SAT Mathematics - 530

  • Advanced Placement: Calculus AB - Level 3 or above

  • Advanced Placement: Statistics - Level 3 or above
